How OBrien Games uses information for Snap Sub. Last updated 28 August 2026.

The short version

You can play Snap Sub without an account. If you choose to join Online Rankings, we use the information you provide to create, secure, support, and reconnect your account. We do not sell or rent your account information, and we do not give it to advertisers to build an advertising profile.

What we ask for and why

• First and last name: account support and administration. These are not shown on the public board.
• Age: to confirm that ranking members are at least 13 years old. Your age is not public.
• Email: to verify sign-up and send one-time account access codes.
• Phone number: to locate your account when you link another device. Access codes are sent to your verified email.
• Group key: optional; used only to place you in a group configured by its organizer.
• Board name and score: to operate the public leaderboard and award rank benefits.

The public board shows your board name, best score, rank, and earned medals. It does not show your legal name, age, email, or phone number.

How OBrien Games uses account information

We use it only as reasonably needed to:

• create and maintain your optional rankings account;
• verify email ownership and reconnect your devices;
• record scores, calculate rank, and apply ads-off benefits;
• answer support requests and administer groups;
• detect abuse, invalid scores, fraud, and security incidents; and
• meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell or rent this information. We do not use your name, email, phone number, or age for unrelated marketing. Service providers may process limited information for us—for example, hosting the service or delivering a one-time email code—but may use it only to provide that service or as required by law.

Google advertising is a separate data flow

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to OBrien Games, Snap Sub, or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to our sites and other sites on the Internet. Other approved advertising vendors may also place and read cookies or use web beacons to collect information as a result of ad serving.

When a Google ad loads, Google may collect or process information directly from your browser or device. Depending on your device, settings, consent choices, and local law, that can include IP address, browser and device information, cookies or similar storage, mobile advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from an IP address, and interactions with an ad.

Google’s advertising data is not our leaderboard account list. We do not intentionally send Google your first or last name, email address, phone number, age, or rankings account ID for ad targeting. The two data flows can still contain overlapping technical information—for example, an IP address may be visible when a device connects to either service.

Where consent is required, the game will present the applicable advertising choice. Personalized and non-personalized ads can involve different uses of data, but even non-personalized ads may use limited technical information for delivery, frequency control, reporting, security, and invalid-traffic prevention.

Google controls its own advertising technology and explains its practices in How Google uses information from sites and apps and the Google Privacy Policy. Users can opt out of personalized Google advertising through My Ad Center and can opt out of some other third-party vendors’ personalized advertising through YourAdChoices.

Your choices

• Play as a guest and do not provide rankings account information.
• Unlink a device without deleting your local game or local best scores.
• Delete your own online account and rankings data from the account controls inside a currently linked game. A linked session is how the game verifies that the account is yours.
• Use the advertising and device privacy controls offered for your platform and region.

After account removal, we keep only a one-way thumbprint of the phone number so the same number cannot repeatedly claim the new-member ads-off benefit. Operational logs and backups may remain for a limited period when needed for security, recovery, or legal obligations.

Private account information and requests

We do not provide private account information about any player to another person. We will not confirm whether someone else has an account or disclose their name, age, email, phone number, account history, or other private records. This applies to requests from family members, friends, group organizers, employers, and other third parties.

The normal way to delete an account is the self-service Remove online data control inside the game while that game is linked to the account. Unlinking a device is not deletion. Email is not an account-verification, records-request, or deletion channel. Email requests to access, change, disclose, or delete account data are not processed because an email message does not prove control of the linked game session.

We may preserve or disclose information only when required by valid legal process or applicable law. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

Age and changes

Online Rankings are for people age 13 or older. Rewards Club credits are only for signed-in players 18 or older. We may update this policy as the game, advertising system, or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top will show when the wording changed.
